Classification
The Classification Rules and Procedures were designed in order to
strengthen classification processes, to enable IBTA International
Classifiers to perform classification assessments to a consistently
high standard in every location, and to give reassurance to players
that Classification will be conducted fairly and equitably, in full
recognition of their rights as players.
IBTA is working towards full compliance with the IPC Classification Code and IBSA Classification Rules – in instances where these Rules are silent, the Rules contained in the IPC Classification Code and/or IBSA Classification Rules will apply.
It is relevant to point out that these Rules will be subject to further changes as IBTA moves towards full compliance with the IPC Classification Code and aligned with IBSA Classification Rules.
Players requiring classification before competing in tournaments can download the Medical Diagnostics Form (MDF) below. Completed forms must be submitted to mdf@internationalblindtennis.org for review by the IBTA medical team at least six weeks before sanctioned events.
